Thanks for the article.

Mr. Lowry, thank you very much for the excellent article ( as soon as I get the weblink I will insert it so others can read it)! I really appreciate it when people take the time to send me news I might otherwise miss, and the article you sent is one of those. I do not believe polygamy is a viable (or moral) lifestyle alternative in this day and age, mainly because, as I noted, God has not commanded it to be so, but also for the same reason that we need some form of government: Men are not angels. That being said, either one takes the high moral road and does away with all types of relationships outside of traditional monogamy and do the best we can through legislation and societal presure to minimize divorce, or we go down the road Justice Scalia spoke of in his dissent to the 2003 Lawrance vs Texas decision, where there is no difference between various sexual arrangements if we do away with the moral basis of law. Personally I prefer the former course of the high road:-) But I also think the law should apply equally to all groups of people, and as gay rights activists are trying (and partially succeeding) to redefine marrriage,Muslims are pushing sharia law, and adultery, cohabitation, etc. are now norms in society, than punishing the FLDS and making a state confiscation of over 400 children on very flimsy grounds is judicial hypocrisy. Today in the news it was reported that a woman in Colorado Springs may have been the caller, or one of them at any rate, that prompted the raid, yet the state defends itself on the grounds it acted in good faith. Tell that to the children! Is it too much to ask that the law be apply equally to all, and that it be morally just  law? Again, thank you for the article, and if you have comments or points to make, please send them in! I enjoy writing about things that really matter:-) Brian
